Experiment: The ancient form of animals and motifs, today’s material.

Traditional kilims often featured animal and plant motifs in highly stylized and geometric forms. These shapes were far from the realistic appearances of today’s animals and objects. With modern technology, we now have the ability to visualize things in any form or style we want.

In this experiment, I took those traditional forms—like a stylized bird motif which originally represented a swan—and tried to reimagine them using today’s realism. I attempted to place a real swan’s body into the structure of the original motif. I did the same with a wheat symbol, recreating it as a living wheat stalk.

This was a way to question how traditional shapes relate to modern reality. I used AI tools for the visualizations, which allowed me to explore this curiosity quickly and effectively. It also served as a nice visual complement to the narrative presented in my book.
